士嘉堡說 – 是的，我們理應獲得加薪！

周二(11月5日)晚近200百名出席最低工資論壇的士嘉堡居民擠滿了RH King Academy的禮堂。他們聆聽論壇一個小組從而分享工資微薄的工人生活經驗，之後，整晚討論如何最有效的向士嘉堡省議員施加壓力，使最低工資提高至14元。當晚的壓軸好戲是，口語藝術家Spin/El Poeta的精彩表演。你可以在youtube看到在士嘉堡中心拍攝的視頻──請向你的人際網絡傳遞這個視頻，並幫助推動提高最低工資運動。一份工作應該是幫你脫貧，而不是把你困在貧窮中。

SCARBOROUGH SAYS – YES WE DESERVE A RAISE!

The auditorium was packed at RH King Academy on Tuesday night as nearly two hundred Scarborough residents turned out for the Forum on minimum wage.  They heard from a panel sharing the lived experience of people working for poverty wages, then spent the evening discussing how best to put pressure on Scarborough MPP’s to raise the minimum wage to $14. The evening was capped off by a great performance by spoken word artist Spin/El Poeta. You can see the video with the performance filmed at the Scarborough Town Centre – please circulate it to all your networks and help build the movement.  A job should lift you out of poverty, not keep you in it!
