好奇者駐足湖濱夜市工會攤檔
7月19至21日的那個周末，公務員工會79分會(CUPE Local 79)與多倫多及約克區勞工議會合作，在湖濱夜市擺攤，引來無數的好奇者停下來問個究竟。他們對工會攤檔前的直幅標語甚感興趣。標語是：工會維護公平 致力為所有人創建更美好的未來。一些遊人問為甚麼工會在夜市擺檔？一些人問工會對工人有甚麼好處？
對這個工會攤檔感到好奇的長者和年輕人帶走了不少重要的材料。不用多說，睇檔的CUPE Local 79職員和不少遊人交談，向他們講解工會對加拿大社會的好處和角色。
工會攤檔向冒著暑熱、嗅著臭豆腐味道逛夜市的男男女女送出數以千計的紀念品，這些物品其中有紙扇、開瓶器、樽裝水、迷你足球和工會資訊單張等。

Conversing with CUPE 79 at Waterfront Night Market
This past weekend, July 19-21, CUPE Local 79 and Labour Council set up a booth at the Waterfront Night Market. They gave out thousands of freebies (in fans, grip jar openers, water bottles, mini footballs and information) to all those who braved the heat and the smell of stinky tofu to come out. For those who saw their booth, they were curious about their slogan (Unions Stand Up for Fairness and Work Towards a Better Future for All). Some people asked, “Why is a union here at the night market?” Others asked, “What is the value of unions to workers?” Both the young and old were curious at the booth, and took away important materials with them. Needless to say, many visitors had some engaging conversations with the members of CUPE 79 who staffed the booth and explained the value and role of unions in Canadian society.
